Our Cause
Our project is based on the Girl Scout Breathe Journey. We chose this journey because air is something that we are passionate about and we want to make a stand for indoor and outdoor air quality! Taking this journey helped us learn about the importance of clean air and keeping the earth clean, so that every day we can breathe clean air. Along the journey, we interviewed air care experts and we completed a field observation in Cranford to gain some more insight into air care issues in our neighborhood. We decided to focus our alert at our school, Orange Avenue School. In preparing for our alert, we had several meetings to discuss what we wanted to do at OAS. As a result, we decided to create this website to educate our ACT—air care team—about air care issues and the survey to gather feedback from our ACT—the students, teachers and staff at OAS—about their thoughts on indoor air quality at OAS. We will share with our ACT the results of our survey and make specific recommendations to improve indoor air quality at OAS. We hope that our alert encourages our ACT to join our cause!
